Meet Jim Pieper
As chief financial officer, Jim leads all finance functions of Sphera. He brings over 30 years of diverse finance experience, primarily with high-growth corporations. Jim’s finance expertise includes mergers and acquisitions as well as initial public offerings.
Prior to joining Sphera, Jim served in various finance roles of increasing responsibility with TransUnion, a global information and insights company. He most recently served as chief financial officer of U.S. Markets, TransUnion’s largest business. Prior to TransUnion, Jim served as chief accounting officer at CME Group, a leading global derivatives marketplace. He also led the global accounting team with Divine, a software and professional services firm. Jim began his career within the assurance group of KPMG, a global professional services firm.
Jim holds an MBA in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science degree in accountancy from Northern Illinois University. Jim is also a certified public accountant.
Jim serves as treasurer on the executive committee of Special Olympics Illinois, the world’s largest sports organization for people with intellectual and physical disabilities. He also heads the finance committee on the board of Chicago Run, which provides children with inclusive running and physical activity programs. In his free time, Jim enjoys traveling with his family and keeping up with his children’s many sporting activities.
